Developed by Studio Wildcard, Ark is a action-adventure survival video game, In the game, players must survive being stranded on one of several maps filled with roaming dinosaurs, fictional fantasy monsters, and other prehistoric animals, natural hazards, and potentially hostile human players. Ark was initially released as Ark Survival Evolved in 2017, dubbed ASE. On November 21st 2023, Ark was remastered and released as Ark: Survival Ascended, dubbed ASA.
In ARK, ascension is the process of defeating the final boss in an official story and moving on to the next level. It involves discovering the true nature of the ARK. In the lore, ascension is when characters make it to the ARK's control centers, the Hall of History, where they fight the overseer. They activate the Ascension protocol, which puts them through an experience similar to defeating a boss.
This post is all about our journey on the Ark, and our story trying to 'Ascend'. We have been playing Ark since it was first released in 2017, Actually we remember buying the game on Xbox when it was Beta for £20. We were so impressed by this game that we purchased Ark: Ascended, a 4K remaster rewritten for Unreal Engine 5. Ark: Survivial Ascended is still being updated and content is still being released,

The Island
The Island is a map included with the base game. It is the first known ARK and is the first map that follows with the storyline. It consists of multiple climatic and geological regions. Beating the island is no easy feat, and requires 'beating' the Island's bosses, if you're also discovering the explorer notes, you will find references to the bosses in some of the explorer notes.
Dossiers
The Dossiers are a collection of notes on the various different Creatures and Items in ARK: Survival Evolved. You can find them scattered around the landscape of The Island, Scorched Earth, Aberration, and Extinction as collectables among other Explorer Notes.

Path to Ascension
In ARK: Survival Evolved, ascension is the process of defeating the final boss in an official story and leveling up.
- Defeat the Overseer in The Island to ascend
- Defeat the Manticore in Scorched Earth to ascend
- Defeat Rockwell in Aberration to ascend
- Defeat Corrupted Master Controller in Genesis: Part 1 to ascend
- Defeat Rockwell Prime in Genesis: Part 2 to ascend
After ascending, a Survivor's maximum level increases by 5, 10, or 15, depending on the difficulty.
Broodmother
Before you can summon this boss you must first collect all the tribute items and then summon the boss at the Green Obelisk.

In order to complete this boss, you may need Rexes and Yuty support. The tricky bit is positioning in the arena or you lose tames to the void more than the monkey. For Alpha you'll want better saddles/Rex stats, naturally.

Dragon
Therizinos with Yuty support is a common tactic. Can be done with Rexes, but they need to be built for damage output over tanking. All carnivores are dead after the 5th breath (which is why Therizinos are popular, plus veggie cakes). Some people take a few deinonycus for the bleed effect and I've heard others use magmasaurs for the fire immunity, but neither of those are native to the island.

Overseer
You're using whatever survives the trek down. Rexes and Yutys are popular, again. Take the best of what you've bred. I've seen people beat it with just decent weaponry and a tek suit, though. You can go in with assault rifles and riot gear and beat the boss with 7-10 players. Bring a ton of bullets and healing brews because the defense units do a good amount of damage. Rockets will take out the overseer super quick. Also bring fur gear because it gets cold in some parts.
