Good News Supacell Fans
Supacell, the superhero netflix show from director Rapman aka Andrew Onwubolu MBE has been renewed for another season. If you haven't seen the show yet, OnlyIan did a review here.
Netflix Confirm Season 2
On Tuesday August 13th 2024, Netflix Confirmed there will be a season two, and you can see the source here.
The shows creator Rapman has reportedly penciled in 3 Seasons of the series:
For the show’s creator, Rapman, what comes next in the story isn’t a mystery. “I’ve always had it [mapped out] to Season 3. I know how Season 2 ends,” he told Tudum before the series premiered, adding, “I’ve got stuff planned for this story. I’ve had this in my head for years, so I’m ready to go.”
Each of the five heroes has their own personal problems –– while struggling to wield a special ability –– but Rapman says they’re only getting started. “Supacell Season 1 is my Batman Begins. It’s a prequel of what they’ll be like. Season 2 is when you really see what they become. That future you saw at the end of the pilot in London, that exact future doesn’t exist anymore. They’ve changed everything. It’s going to be interesting when we get into the writers’ room.”
Good news, it sounds like season 1 was our prequel into the Characters, and if you have seen Batman Begins, it's all about what makes them who they are. It's really intersting to see the time-travel genre, however we do feel it's somewhat a cliché right now, and Rapman will really have to pull his creativity out of the bag to deliver on a sci-fi / superhero show that hasn't been done before. Netflix have a show called Umbrella Academy that is on it's final season which aired this month, which was a similiar story of a ragtag group destined to save the world.
